Tis the season

Tis the season to reveiw the season, anyway not much outside going on today so lets look back at this season. My season officially started in the last week of Jan and has not end till next weekends cap city cx race. My original plan was to go to master Cyclocross worlds in mid Jan but the fundage is low to swing a trip to Europe. So what happened this year? I raced a lot. This was the most racing that I have done in a season, 56 races. That includes training races. 39 races were road or TT, 1 mtb, and 17 cross races.

My goals for the season were, Tour of Ohio, Masters Nationals and Cross Season. The First goal was Tour of Ohio and it went great I ended up 3rd overall and was top ten everyday and Dan won a stage. Keep in mind that the first season I did tour of Ohio 7 season’s ago I got dropped everyday. The stage race set me up to do well at master nationals and I raced at the front all day but ended up 22nd. The next goal was cross season and it went well, I won 2 races and was 2nd in the Bike Authority series.

Looking back at my training everything went great for the first part of the season. My chronic training stress score or (tssm) was around 120 after tour of Ohio and I hit my season high for functional threshold power. The second goals of the season were Cyclocross and my training was a little off. I raced a lot in July and August when I should have redone base. Overall it was a great season.

Next season goals are being formulated right now. One goal will be Cyclocross season for sure and I will work backward from this goal for planning next season. I really want to race a full uci schedule and go to Europe. To make this happen I better get some sponsorship together. I will put some power files up later this week. Remember you have to dream big to achieve greatness!
